Welcome to Footloose! If you have any questions that aren't answered within the website, please feel free to call Debra at 403-993-5556.
For those that want shopping and eating establishments in downtown High River, here is a map of the highlights!
Friday night the doors will open at 5:00pm. The Friday night dancing will start at 6pm, and the playlist will start at that time. Once the playlist is complete, we will be playing requests. Feel free to jump in and dance during the evening social! If you don't know the dance, but know a dance you can do to the music, please also get up on the floor and join in. We have many floor splits (running two or three dances at the same time to one song), and always welcome more. You'll notice on the Friday and Saturday evening playlists that there are dances labelled "Workshop Dance". These slots are reserved for dances that we've learned earlier, so we can try them out on the dance floor. We won't have time to do all the workshop dances during the evening dance, but we'll do what we can!
There will be two social dance rooms running on Friday night (one in the main hall, starting at 6pm, and a Country Room in the adjoining hall... running from 7:30-10:30pm). Saturday night will also have two social dance rooms running (one in the main hall, starting at 7pm, and a second one in the adjoining hall for level 1-3 dances done to original music... from 8-10pm) You can find the Friday night and Saturday night (main room and country room) playlists under the "Dance Playlists" tab closer to the event date.
Saturday morning we get underway at 9:30am with coffee and muffins. The workshops start at 10:00am, and before each workshop, we will have a demonstration of each dance being taught in that time slot so you'll be able to choose which dance you want to learn. Lunch on Saturday will be spaghetti and meatsauce, veggies and buns. If you have any food allergies, please feel free to bring your own lunch. We would be happy to store your lunch in the fridge if needed. Also, if you feel you may get hungry during the workshops, please also feel free to bring a snack or two of your own.
There will be a break after the last class on Saturday. The hall will be closed for dinner, and will reopen at 6:45pm for the evening playlists which will start at 7pm.
Sunday begins again at 9:00am with coffee and muffins, with classes starting at 9:30am. The lunch for Sunday will be soup and wraps. Again, feel free to bring additional food items if you feel you need something more substantial.
Please note that if you have any flyers or information on classes or upcoming workshops, we would be happy to display your information on the table near the registration desk. Please also help yourself to flyers etc. to take back to your classes.
Fragrance Free Event - Footloose is fragrance free, as we have several dancers that have severe sensitivity to any perfumes and scents. Wear your deodorant, but please leave your strong (or even subtle) fragrances at home. Our wish is for everyone to enjoy the event, and we can make that happen with your help!
Workshop Schedule and Playlists and Schedule of Events
Workshops can be found on the "Teaching Schedule" tab, playlists will be found on the "Dance Playlists" tab, and the general time schedule is found on the "Home" tab.
Looking forward to seeing you all at Footloose in the Foothills 2025, now in our 15th year!
